Over 10,000 homeless individuals are cared for by Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program each year. Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program is looking to hire a Pharmacist Supervisor to provide leadership and oversight for the pharmacy team, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of pharmaceutical services. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, supervises pharmacists and pharmacy technician supervisor, and work collaboratively with healthcare providers to promote optimal patient care and outcomes.Responsibilities: - Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacists and pharmacy technician supervisor, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing, compounding, verification, and clinical review of medications.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and patient safety.
- Manage staff scheduling, workload distribution, and workflow efficiency.
- Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and performance management of pharmacy staff.
- Monitor and maintain inventory control, including purchasing, storage, returns, and expiration date checks.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and accreditation surveys.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs to enhance operational efficiency and clinical services.
- Serve as a resource and role model for best practices in pharmacy operations and patient care.
- Resolve escalated patient and provider concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Stay current with advances in pharmacy practice, regulatory changes, and healthcare trends.
Qualifications:Experience and Education:- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required; Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in good standing, as required by MA law.
- Minimum 3–5 years of pharmacy practice experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, medication management, and healthcare compliance standards.
Basic Knowledge/Skills:- Experience managing multiple competing priorities; excellent prioritization skills. Creating a safe and effective environment
- Strong analytical and organizational skills including ability to analyze data to identify trends and communicate them through effective reporting methods
- Strong attention to detail; quality focused
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
- Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills including experience presenting complex information to senior leaders
- Skilled in exercising initiative, integrity, judgement, discretion, and decision making to achieve objectives
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong leadership skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits:- The compensation increases based on years of experience and ranges from $118,200 - $189,120.
