Since 1985, BHCHP’s mission has been to ensure unconditionally equitable and dignified access to the highest quality health care for all individuals and families experiencing homelessness in greater Boston. Over 10,000 homeless individuals are cared for by Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program each year. We are committed to ensuring that every one of these individuals has access to comprehensive health care, from preventative dental care to cancer treatment. Our clinicians, case managers, and behavioral health professionals work in more than 30 locations to serve some of our community’s most vulnerable—and most resilient—citizens.

The RN Manager of Admissions has overall administrative, management and clinical responsibility for the Respite Admissions Department. The Admissions Manager serves as the point person for managing daily challenges which may arise in the course of the day and communicates directly with the Director of Nursing /Associate Director of Nursing, regarding problem resolutions and maintains consistent communication to ensure consistency of process for all patient admissions, as well as screening referrals and assessing the appropriateness of patient admissions to the Respite Program. Additional responsibilities include, ensuring that all referrals coming to the admissions office are responded to in a timely and professional manner; ensuring that admissions are planned and coordinated with the appropriate administrators and clinical staff; identify department needs/ challenges and develop policies and procedures for key admissions challenges/issues.
This position reports to the Director of Nursing and works very closely with the McInnis House Medical Director and Associate Medical Director, Associate Director of Nursing; Charge RN’s, Staff Psychiatrist and other key clinical and non-clinical personnel to ensure that all admissions of patients to the respite program are appropriate, smooth and timely.
